WILDFLOWER CENTURY BICYCLE rides are sponsored by the Chico Velo Club every year. The rides include routes for 100 miles, 65 miles, childflower 20 miles, and more. The event is held on the last Sunday of April. The Ridge Runners Square Dance Club's role in this event, which hosted over 4,000 riders this year, has been every year since 1999. The club members bus the tables, handle the juice bar, greet riders at the door, man the ice cream station, help in emptying the trash containers, and assist in the cleanup. The square dance members serve on two-hour shifts. They also receive T-shirts of the event, and a meal. For this service, the Club receives $500.00 plus the fun of being with a happy group of people.
